Technical and Investment Advice

Christopher Mellor has been working within the market of pensions and divorce for many years providing technical and investment advice to the recipients of large financial settlements and, since December 2000, advice to lawyers and their clients on the subject of pension sharing. This includes advice on the type of pension contract to which a cash equivalent transfer value should be transferred as a result of a pension sharing order , related investment advice and/or the manner in which subsequent pension benefits should be taken by the recipient.

Lawyers and Individuals

More recently Christopher has been providing advice to lawyers and individuals on which pension schemes pension sharing orders should be served upon. This has become an ever more important and relevant subject as there are significant differences between final salary and money purchase pension schemes. A pension sharing order served on the wrong pension scheme could be financially detrimental to either one or both parties to the divorce.
