David was born in Bristol .

He is married with two children who both attend a local Grammar school.

After leaving full time education he worked in Switzerland for a year in one of the top hotels in Zurich . He returned to the UK when his work permit ran out (after the maximum permitted one year).

Back in the UK he worked in the food service industry and latterly was an Area Manager in North West London. His responsibilities included running some prestige contracts including Sky Television, Renault UK , and Heathrow Airport Terminal 3/4 Staff Restaurants.

In 1991 he joined Prudential Assurance as a Financial Consultant. He moved to Friends Provident as a Financial Consultant in 1994 as they offered a more comprehensive product range to his clients.

In 1997 he was recruited by Chequers Financial Services as an Independent Financial Adviser. Chequers were acquired by the Financial Management Group in August 2003. David saw this as a positive move as the support offered by The Financial Management Group was excellent.
